Pure Nickel N6 (Ni200) Battery Interconnects

The industry standard for low-resistance battery assembly. We manufacture pure nickel strip with guaranteed 99.6% purity. Engineered for high-current spot welding in EV, Power Tool, and Medical applications.

The Science of Pure Nickel N6

In the battery industry, material purity is not a luxury—it is a safety requirement. N6 (equivalent to UNS N02200 or Ni200) is commercially pure wrought nickel with a nickel content of at least 99.6%.

Ultra-Low Resistivity

With a resistivity of just 7.6 µΩ·cm (approx. 25% IACS), pure nickel conducts current efficiently. This minimizes the $I^2R$ heat generation that kills battery cells.

Corrosion Immunity

Pure nickel forms a passive oxide layer that is virtually immune to atmospheric corrosion, humidity, and salt air. Essential for marine and outdoor packs.

Spot Weldability

Our annealing process ensures a hardness of HV 90-140 (Soft/Quarter Hard). This allows for deep weld penetration without high heat, protecting the cell.

Technical Specifications

We adhere to GB/T 2072-2007 and ASTM B162 standards. Every batch is traceable.

Pure Nickel vs. Nickel Plated Steel

The market is flooded with cheap "Nickel Plated Steel" sold as "Nickel." While steel is suitable for low-power toys, it poses a danger for high-current lithium batteries. Here is why you should choose Pure Nickel.

Pure Nickel N6 (Ni200)
Conductivity High (~25% IACS)
Resistance Low (Runs Cool)
Corrosion Excellent (No Rust)
Spark Test Dim Red / None
Salt Water No Change
Cost Premium
Nickel Plated Steel
Conductivity Low (~7% IACS)
Resistance High (Overheats)
Corrosion Poor (If scratched)
Spark Test Bright Yellow Shower
Salt Water Rusts in 24h
Cost Cheap

Certified Quality Control

As a factory, we control the metallurgy from the moment the master coil arrives. We don't just cut metal; we certify it.

XRF Spectrum Analysis

Every batch is scanned to ensure Ni content. We provide MTC (Mill Test Certificates) with every shipment.

Precision Slitting

Width tolerance held to ±0.03mm. Burr-free edges (<0.02mm) to prevent puncturing battery insulation.

Vacuum Packaging

Nickel can oxidize over long sea voyages. We vacuum pack all coils with desiccants to ensure a pristine welding surface.

We encourage you to test it! The easiest way is the Salt Water Test: scratch the strip and leave it in salt water for 24 hours. Pure nickel will not rust. Alternatively, do a Spark Test with a grinder. Pure nickel produces very few, short, non-glowing sparks. Steel produces a large shower of bright sparks.

Our standard stock is Annealed (Soft) or 1/4 Hard (HV 90-140). This is the optimal temper for battery spot welding as it sits flat on the cell terminal and allows for deep weld penetration without high current.

Yes. This is a common misconception. Nickel is a ferromagnetic metal (like iron and cobalt). A magnet WILL stick to pure nickel. You cannot use a magnet to distinguish between pure nickel and plated steel.

Generally: 0.15mm is standard for e-bikes (approx 7A continuous). 0.20mm is for high-drain tools (approx 10A). For higher currents, use wider strips or double layers. Always calculate based on your motor's peak draw.

For bulk factory orders, we sell by Kilogram (kg). For small sample orders or prototyping, we can sell by the meter or roll (e.g., 1kg roll). 1kg of 0.15x8mm nickel is approximately 95 meters.
